Description:

The city of Ohrid is located on the northwestern shore of Lake Ohrid. It stretches up and around two main hills, those of the castle and Deboj. While the city has now spread into the northern, northeastern, and eastern agricultural fields, it was previously concentrated on and around the two hills, surrounded by a stone wall. There is only a 15.5-kilometer road distance between the center of Ohrid and the center of Struga. The city of Struga is located in the northwest. Ohrid has a typical continental climate. During the summer, the weather is hot and with very little rainfall, while during the winter, the weather is very cold and with heavy snowfall. The biggest attraction of Ohrid is its lake. One of the oldest and deepest in Europe, it attracts not only tourists but also athletes, fishermen, and scientists.
