6 Days in Southern Albania

Our Tour Leader will pick you up at your hotel in Tirana. Our first stop will be Saranda, renowned as the pearl of the Albanian Riviera, particularly lively in the summer months, often referred to as the unofficial capital of Albania during this period. Nestled in a picturesque natural bay along the Ionian Sea, offering breathtaking views of the island of Corfu, Saranda enjoys over 300 days of sunshine a year, attracting both local and international visitors. Saranda is famous for its rocky beaches, numerous coves, diverse flora and fauna, citrus groves, olive groves and vineyards. As one of the major ports in southern Albania, Saranda serves as a vital link with Mediterranean nations. After an exploration of the city, you will have free time to enjoy the sun and relax on Saranda's rocky and pebbly beaches. In the afternoon, you can stroll along the Saranda seafront, admiring the views of the Ionian Sea, sipping a coffee or enjoying an ice cream on the seafront. The accommodation for the night will be near the Albanian Riviera.

After breakfast, we will depart towards Ksamil, our focal point for the day! Prepare to immerse yourself in what appears to be a tropical paradise as we delve into its pristine white sand beaches, offering captivating views of the four islands just offshore. Ksamil stands out as the gem of the Albanian Riviera, ranking among the best beach destinations in Europe. Renowned mainly for its beaches of fine sand and transparent waters, Ksamil exudes an irresistible charm. While the Albanian Riviera boasts numerous picturesque beaches, Ksamil offers a distinctly Bora Bora-like atmosphere. You will have ample time to dive into the turquoise shades of the sea and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere. Overnight accommodation will be arranged near the Albanian Riviera.

After breakfast, get ready to explore the beautiful coast of the Albanian Riviera. The riviera is known for some of Albania's most famous beaches, with its hidden coves, pebble beaches and crystal-clear waters that invite you to dive. Your tour guide will take you towards Borsh, the longest and largest beach in the Ionian Sea (7km long). Borsh is a quiet coastal village known for its olive oil production. The beach is very clean and the water incredibly crystal clear. From the beach you can admire incredible views of the Ionian Sea, the coast and the surrounding mountains. You will have the whole day free to absorb and conserve all the sunshine. Overnight stay near the Albanian Riviera.

Immerse yourself in the rich history, breathtaking landscapes and warm hospitality of this enchanting destination. We'll start the day with a scenic drive through picturesque villages, offering glimpses of Albania's rustic countryside. Upon arriving in Himara, you will immediately be charmed by the tranquil atmosphere of the city and the azure waters of the Ionian Sea. Dive into the past as you wander the narrow cobblestone alleys of Himara Old Town. Admire the traditional stone houses, each with its own unique character and charm. Explore the city's historical places and discover Himara's fascinating past. Himara is renowned for its pristine beaches and no trip is complete without spending time by the sea. Relax on the soft, sandy shores or take a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters. With its unspoiled beauty, the Himara coast offers an idyllic escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You will enjoy a stroll along the seaside, tasting delicious food that combines local cuisine with influences from nearby Greece. The waterfront offers you the opportunity to try fresh fruit juices and even buy handmade souvenirs. As we travel along the Albanian Riviera, we will pass some of the most beautiful beaches in Albania; Vuno, Dhermi and Palasa. Along the way we will pass through some small villages one by one, clinging to the rock faces along the sea, all crumbling stone walls and narrow paths, shaded by vines laden with grapes and trees laden with figs and nuts. Our next destination will be Dhermi, one of the most famous beaches in Albania. Known for its hidden coves, pebble beaches and crystal clear waters that invite you to dive. You will have some free time to absorb and store all the sunshine. Overnight stay near the Albanian Riviera.

After breakfast, we will explore the city of Vlora, known for its year-round mild temperatures and very little rainfall, making it a popular destination. Vlora was founded in the 6th century BC with the name of Aulona. The city is known as the "City of the Flag"; the independence of Albania was declared here on November 28, 1912. We will visit the Flag Square and the Independence Monument. Then we will take a walk in the Muradie neighborhood, visit the main mosque of Vlore, an Albanian National Monument built in 1537. Muradie mosque is a charming Ottoman structure that has been well preserved for almost half a millennium. Afterwards we will return to Tirana. This marks the end of this incredible experience. You'll return home with a new sense of excitement to share with those around you.
